The Youth Opportunity Program (YOP) offers Monroe County youth:

  • Employment Services

  • Career Information

If you are 14-24 years old, from a low-income family, and could use help to complete a diploma, GED or to get and keep a job, let us show you how we can help!

Educational Services

The YOP offers a wide range of individual and group services for youth who are getting a high school diploma and for those in need of a GED. The educational services include:

  • One-on-one study sessions

  • Collaboration with high school teachers and counselors

  • GED test payment

  • Weekly appointments

  • Assistance with college enrollment and applying for financial aid

  • Advanced training and certificate program payment

  • Other supportive services, including transportation

 Employment Opportunities

The YOP provides personalized employment services. We offer services that will assist youth in finding and keeping a job, including:

  • Career exploration

  • Individual job search

  • Personalized resume and cover letter construction

  • Work-readiness workshops

  • Job shadowing

  • Other supportive services

YOP Referrals

The YOP referral process begins with the completion of the YOP Referral Online Form. Once this form is completed, a YOP specialist will be in contact with you.
