Educational Center

Our Mission…

The Monroe County Educational Center (MCEC) believes that all students can learn and pursue personal success. The staff — in partnership with students, their families, and community members — provides educational opportunities that promote learning, growth and the pursuit of appropriate life goals. 

The Monroe County Educational Center serves students with impairments that are between the ages of 3 and 26 years old. The Educational Center and district satellite rooms serve numerous students from all nine local school districts.

Emphasis at the Educational Center includes fostering independence, developing daily living skills, and facilitating community interaction through the development of job skills, pro-social behaviors, communication skills, academic skills, and leisure-time activities.

Students and staff are involved in various activities which add to the quality of school life. Here is a small sampling:
